And, Carol, I do know that Brazil was heavily influenced by the Portuguese, though am less informed about their influence in Argentina, where there is for certain a heavy Italian presence.
All I can tell for sure is that Argentina and Brazil have a BIG rivalry. Jack has a Brazilian friend at The Early School, and her mother, who is really the one from Brazil, kept kidding Jack about "choosing" to go to Argentina.
